Job Description
When hope seems lost, we leave a light on. Hays House is here for kids, ages 9 to17, who are runaways, homeless, victims of abuse or neglect, or just need a safe place. We are the Treasure Valley’s only 24/7 shelter for runaway or homeless youth, but we’re also a lot more than that. If you, or someone you know, needs a place to stay, then we are here to help - no judgment, no pressure.
We're looking for volunteers to assist in many ways at Hays House:
- Academic tutors
- Master Gardeners
- Youth Specialist Aides
- Experience Instructors
- and more!

When:
- Weekly
- 1-4 hour shifts
- 1x a week (depending on volunteer’s schedule)
- Commitment for six months, as consistency is important to our programming.
How: In order to volunteer for this opportunity, you will need to:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Submit application and resume
- Submit to Criminal History Unit background check through DHW and pre-service drug/alcohol screening
- Complete interview
- Comply with all Idaho Youth Ranch Volunteer Policies and Procedures
