Job Description
Seeking an experienced CPA to
manage the Tax and Accounting Departments.
Initially, the position will be onsite in Cincinnati for orientation, but after that can be 1 – 2 days onsite/hybrid.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Manage employees on the
tax and accounting teams
- Schedule and manage
workload of associates
- Conduct performance
evaluations and provide feedback
- Handle employee issues,
questions, and staff payroll
- Assign calendar year-end
returns, preparation, and implement and oversee related processes
- Review and/or prepare corporate,
partnership, and individual tax returns for the more complex
issues/clients
- Review monthly accounting
compilation and reconciliations for the more complex issues/clients
- Assign quarterly tax
estimates from preparation through delivery, implement and oversee
processes, and direct involvement with the more complex estimates
- Handle and resolve
government examinations, tax notices, and other urgent, time-sensitive
correspondence and compliance matters
- Answer questions from the management
consultants or tax associates for tax/accounting items and research
- Coordinate with associates
on work that needs to be completed before tax season
- Conduct training with tax
and accounting team members as necessary
- Handle a relatively
limited number of the more complex tax and accounting clients
- Give input for the hiring,
firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of employees
in the Accounting and Tax Departments
- Collaborate with management
consultants to provide necessary financial information for clients
- Work with the Compliance
team to keep reports in line with accounting standards
- Work with the Client Care
Team on all processes related to the intake and delivery of accounting and
tax related client information and service
- Plan for and oversee year-end
corporate closings prepared by management consultants
- Manage the 1099 process
Qualifications:
- Significant
tax and accounting experience required
- Knowledge of accounting
software (our firm utilizes QuickBooks Online and Great Plains)
- Bachelor’s degree in
Accounting or Business required
- CPA certification required
- Intermediate experience
with Microsoft Office products and tax and accounting software
- Must have excellent
computer skills and ability to analyze data
- Must have superior verbal
and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to
think critically with strong decision-making skills
- Organized and focused: ability
to effectively prioritize and delegate work as needed
Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 to $125,000.00 per YEAR
