*This is a hybrid position and works 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely once trained*

We are currently licensed in 50 states. This position currently falls under the Centers for Medicare and Medicare Services (CMS) vaccine mandate. Summary of Position: Intake Coordinator will work closely with referral sources on initial orders, verify insurance coverage and obtain documentation to ensure the product(s) that are being ordered meet(s) insurance requirements. Coordinator will work with authorization counterpart to ensure all requirements are met to successfully submit authorization prior to dispensing and billing medications. Coordinator will process calls for new referrals and will distribute calls to other departments when necessary.   

Essential Job Requirements: -Answer incoming calls regarding new referrals. -Work with case managers at hospitals, nursing agencies, hospice agencies, MD offices etc. to arrange dispensing of specialty meds along with home infusion/Enteral therapy for patients as needed. (This includes knowing which insurances we accept as well as the guidelines for payment from a variety of insurance companies). -Manage email, fax and web portals for new referrals -Work closely with other departments to complete referrals -Verify insurance online or via phone to determine patient OOP -Set up copay assistance or free drug for patients that qualify -Process new referrals in CPR+/New Leaf according to current procedures -Arrange nursing if necessary for patients with a variety of nursing agencies, based on insurance and patient need -Assist in negotiating nursing rates with nursing agencies if subcontracting is needed due to insurance company requirements. -Coordinate with members of Clinical Liaison team for teaches at various facilities -Occasionally attend marketing outings to meet with case managers. Educational Requirements:
-High School diploma or equivalent -National Pharmacy Technician Certification Experience Requirements: -One to two years of related field experience in the medical profession. -IV/Specialty Pharmacy Experience (preferred) Skills & Equipment Requirements:
 -Knowledge of HCPC coding and ICD-10 codes -Excellent computer skills -Good alpha-numeric skills -Detail oriented -Ability to copy, fax, and scan -Critical thinking and problem-solving skills -Excellent phone/customer service skills -Knowledge of medical/pharmacy terminology -Visual abilities to include computer screen and paper reading, distance vision, and peripheral vision. -Type of equipment used: fax, copier, computer, calculator, and telephone Physical Requirements: Sitting 80% of time, standing/walking 20% of time. CRITICAL TO JOB: repeated use of hands (finger, wrist movements, typing/data entry, and writing) 80% of time on the job.
