Job Description
Position Summary

Second Shift Position: 4:25 p.m. - 2:55 a.m. Monday - Thursday

Responsible for preparing and spraying work pieces with designated paint or coating and performs daily preventative maintenance in paint area and on painting equipment.

Requirements include the ability to:
• Reads job specifications (e.g. blueprints, quality control plans and/or traveler notes) to determine paint specifications.
• Locates, transfers, preps, and cleans work pieces for the paint process.
• Loads and positions work pieces on to the paint line.
• Measures and mixes substances to specified color and consistency to create coatings or paints.
• Fills spray container (hopper, reservoir, trough, or pan) with designated coating or paint, adjusts valves and nozzle in order to get the proper flow and coating thickness.
• Applies paint or coating to work pieces by pulling the trigger of a spray gun.
• Examines finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or traveler notes.
• Transfers completed work pieces to drying or storage area.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Production supervisor or lead person.
• Performs cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment and machines including testing chemical levels in the wash tanks.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Properly labels and stores paints and chemicals

Industrial paint experience preferred

Position will train on days then transition to nights. Mon – Thur 4:25 p.m. – 2:55 a.m.
