SALARY/ PAY: $17.00 - $22.00
HOURLY (Wage determined by experience verified by references and upon completion
of interview).
REPORTS TO: Laborer/Pipe-layer position reports to; Foreman,
Project Manager, & Office Managers.
SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Laborer/Pipelayer role,
mainly but not limited to;)
Reports directly to Job
Foreman daily. Completes tasks assigned
for excavation and construction of underground utility sitework, often working
in trenches. Effectively completes all
jobs assigned within designated time limit. Must maintain a clean and safe work
area. Identifies hazards associated with task assignments and asks questions
when clarification is needed. Complies with all safety policies, practices and
procedures. Checks quality of pipe to ensure it is without defect.
Additionally, Laborer/Pipelayer must be able to lay out laterals, set up for
dig, being aware of possible safety issues, be capable of grading for pipe as
well as attach laterals, fittings, valves and curb inlets and lay pipe into
trenches. Any other work as assigned by Foreman, Project Manager and/or Office
Managers.
LABORER: requires no experience. PIPE-LAYER:
must have 1-year experience in wet utility underground construction.
PHYSICAL/ ENVIRONMENTAL
DEMANDS

Ability to lift
at least 50 lbs. multiple times daily.

Competency and
awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards.
·
Constant
standing, bending, shoveling and other miscellaneous manual labor.
·
Requires working
outside in the elements with constant exposure to dirt, dust and other
particles.
·
Exposure to hot
outdoor temperatures for up to 10 hours a day, along with direct sunlight.
·
Exposure to cold
weather and snowy conditions in the winter months.
EXPECTATIONS
This is a FULL-TIME position.
Shifts & hours vary depending on the season. Overtime is required and varies
depending on the demand of work. Attendance is an essential function of this
job. Successful candidate must have transportation to the jobsites as the
company does not provide transportation.
