SUMMARY/ ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
(Pit Operator role, mainly
but not limited to;)
The Pit Operator position reports
directly to the Pit Manager daily.
·
Effectively
manage worksite while ensuring the job is done safely, on time, & under
budget.
·
Enforce & be
familiar with all MSHA regulations.
·
Complete required
MSHA paperwork, and inspections each day.
·
Ability to write
up customer invoices with little to no error.
·
Ensure
cleanliness and maintenance of company provided vehicle, and/or equipment.
·
Must be willing
to obtain MSHA 24-hour certification training, (company provided.)
·
Possession of a
CDL-A is a plus, not a requirement for hire. (Must be willing to obtain a Class
A CDL.)
REQUIRED SKILLS
·
Ability to read
and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
·
Ability to apply
common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or
oral instructions.
·
Ability to read, understand,
& interpret MSHA required paperwork.
·
Ability to safely
operate all types of heavy equipment used on jobsites.
·
Must be literate
with smart phones & tablets as they are used for clocking in, and out each
day.

EXPERIENCE
·
Must have 2-3
years’ experience in operating heavy equipment and machinery, in the
construction and/or mining industries.
PHYSICAL/ ENVIRONMENTAL
DEMANDS
·
Ability to lift
at least 50 lbs. continually throughout the day.
·
Competency and
awareness of surroundings to identify safety hazards.
·
Employee is
regularly required to sit, climb, talk., hear, and use fingers.
·
Exposure to hot
outdoor temperatures for up to 10 hours a day, along with direct sunlight.
·
Exposure to cold
weather and snowy conditions in the winter months.
EXPECTATIONS
This is a FULL-TIME position.
Shifts & hours vary depending on the season. Overtime is available
(sometimes required) and varies depending on the demand of work. Attendance is
an essential function of this job. Successful candidate must have transportation
to the pit as the company does not provide transportation.
