Under limited supervision, this person is responsible for placing individuals in the most appropriate employment setting and for assisting him/her on a daily basis.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with a minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience in sales, customer service, marketing preferred.
Other Skills and Requirements
Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Follow VR and ADVP regulations and guidelines for supported employment.
Exercise judgment in implementing goals, policies and procedures.
Assist in selecting potential individuals through screening and assessment procedures.
Assign, review and plan work for individuals, ensuring that they are placed in the most appropriate and least restrictive job for their individual needs and interest.
Provide support for individuals in a variety of ways such as assessment, job development, training, technical assistance, monitoring safety conditions, providing transportation and follow-along support.
Perform various administrative tasks.
Remain abreast of new trends by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, etc. as needed.
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at the work site.
Represent LIFESPAN in a positive manner.
Be available to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and overtime as required.
