Job Description
Pawnee County Memorial Hospital has a position available for a full time (31 hours per week) Food Service Worker. Our small-town atmosphere offers a professional environment in a critical access facility with a competitive salary and benefit package including paid holidays. This position is responsible for preparing meals by following approved menus. Cooks and assists with tray assembly in a smooth work flow from preparation through delivery of meals. This is a full-time position including a rotating weekend and holiday schedule. Food Service experience and flexibility is a plus.
Job Qualifications:
- High school education or G.E.D. preferred
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Good organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Good customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to stand and walk most of the workday
- Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability
- Ability to use hand dexterity to prepare food
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals by following approved menus
- Cooks and assists with tray assembly ensuring a smooth work flow from food preparation to delivery
- Assists in stocking and maintaining supplies for the kitchen and dining room
- Follows HACCP safety and sanitary guidelines
- Operates computer and other essential equipment as needed
- Willingness to learn other duties as assigned

Pawnee County Memorial Hospital is a 11 bed Critical access hospital located in Southeast Nebraska. Pawnee County Hospital offers general medical and surgical services normally associated with a rural Critical Access Hospital. A full range of radiology and laboratory services are available. The hospital and attached rural health clinic are staffed by two physicians and three mid-level practitioners as well as ER physicians on weekends. Specialists from Lincoln, Omaha and Beatrice hold outpatient clinics on a regular basis.
