Summary:
The
Warehouse Manager contributes to the profitability, continuity, and growth by
overseeing the Warehouse, Receiving, and Shipping functions, as well as the
entire material flow process for the Virginia facility.
Responsibilities:
•
Manage
a team of 12 hourly Associates in the Warehouse, Receiving and Shipping
functions.
• Set goals and strategic objectives for the Interim Warehouse Team Leader.
•
Lead
the upcoming transformation with regard to material flow & batch
management.
• Develop, implement, and control a plant logistics strategy with full consideration of business impact that includes resources and capacity.
•
Serve
as a strategic partner to the Value Stream Managers to lead development and
optimization of material flow and presentation of materials to Associates on
the shop floor.
•
Manage
the implementation and sustainment of changes for warehousing and material
flow; SAP, and Oracle Transport Management systems.
•
Create
a warehouse profile strategy to increase overall efficiency of operations and
material flow to all areas of the plant.
•
Adhere
to and ensure full awareness of all Health, Safety and Emergency procedures.
•
Plan
and execute physical inventory and data accuracy in line with the Inventory
Control System.
•
Develop,
prepare, and present required performance metrics for the Warehouse function.
•
Plan
and initiate improvement projects to the Warehouse areas, as needed, to meet
changing demands and requirements.
•
Promote
a culture of compliance, cost effectiveness, idea generation, continuous improvement,
and employee engagement.
•
Formalize
department roles & responsibilities.
•
Identify
training needs of hourly direct reports. Develop and ensure timely execution of
cross training needs and plans to guarantee an efficient and functional
warehouse organization.
•
Complete
Associate Annual Assessments and provide feedback. Create opportunities to
reward and recognize the team and individuals.
Work
Experience/Education Requirements:
•
Number
of Overall Years Necessary: 12-15
•
Minimum
of 10 years' experience in a leadership role, with experience in a regulated
industry such as
•
Medical
Device or Pharmaceutical
•
Bachelor's
Degree Required
•
APICS
certification desired
Specialized
Skills/Technical Knowledge:
•
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S,
TAKT & Kanban
•
Success
leading teams and building strong cross-functional relationships
•
Excellent
communication skills - both written & verbal
•
Proven
ability to manage a variety of responsibilities within a fast moving customer
