HR- Benefits Specialist

Job Description

The Benefits Specialist administers employment benefits to all eligible employees, including health and life insurance, retirement plan enrollments and assisting with open enrollments. The benefit specialist orients new employees to their employee benefits and assists current employees with benefit related issues. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations related to benefit administration. This position manages employee leaves of absence, and supports the process of the Family Medical Leave Act. To manage FMLA you must communicate regularly with employees who are on a leave to update their progress and return to work, complete and maintain all paperwork related to leaves of absence. The benefits specialist actively participates as a member of the Human Resources department and in conjunction with other team members answers request for payroll information, employee issues and employee relations.

Education and Requirements

Bachelors Degree and 1-3 Years of Human Resource Experience or Associates Degree and 3-5 years of HR experience. , Position requires proficiency in MS Office Computer and Database management. Valid NYS Driver License Required. Must have a working knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.

Salary Low to Mid 30s depending on experience
