The Arc of Rensselaer County is a non-profit agency located in Troy, NY supporting individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Rensselaer County. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team.
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician with experience in the industry. Under the direct supervision of the Facility Maintenance Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance.
Some responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Carpentry-construction on repairs of porches, decks and support columns. Finish carpentry including doors, cabinetry paneling and counter tops
Plumbing- Repair and installation of toilets, sinks, dishwashers and hot water tanks. Unplugging of toilets, drains and sewer lines
Electrical- installation and repair of power and lighting circuits
Masonry- Repair side walks, retaining walls and sheetrock
Miscellaneous- Install and repair HVAC systems, carpeting, furniture, glass, roofs, gutters and siding
Education and Experience
Four years of fulltime facilities maintenance experience in a residential or commercial setting or four years of full time experience in a trade under a skilled journeyman or school. This position requires a Valid NY State drivers license, High School Diploma or GED
Monday- Friday 8-4PM, Must be flexible as there may be some Evening and weekend on call hours.
