Job Description Prevention Specialist Position Available
1 Full-time (40 hours per week) Prevention Specialist: South Texas Prevention Navigator Program in Webb County.
Duties: Provide evidence-based substance abuse, HIV, and hepatitis C prevention services to adolescents and young adults including drug prevention education sessions, prevention counseling, HIV and hepatitis C testing, and case management.
Minimum Qualifications: • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, criminal justice, or related behavioral science field is required. • At least 6 months to 1 year of work experience providing substance abuse and/or HIV prevention/intervention services to adolescents and/or adults is preferred. • Experience providing curriculum-based prevention education is preferred. • Must be fluently bilingual (English/Spanish); have good computer skills, a valid TX driver’s license, reliable transportation and insurance; and be able to work flexible hours.
Salary is $12.98 per hour.
