Job Description SUMMARY: JOB DESCRIPTION FOR SANITATION CREW GENERAL FUNCTION: Sanitation of plant equipment, premises and grounds. SUPERVISED BY: Production Supervisor, Sanitation Supervisor, Sanitation Lead. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Cleans belts, blowers, conveying framework, floors, flumes, gutters, walls and etc., with high pressure and waterhose, brushes, cleaning agents, applicators, and etc. 2. May be required to help relieve line employees for breaks. 3. Empties waste barrels, cleans restrooms, cafeteria and special assignments when required. 4. Must be able to disassemble and assemble equipment to be cleaned. 5. At times required to handle hazardous chemicals for specialized cleaning assignments. MARGINAL DUTIES: 1. Does other work as required. 2. Complies with and helps implement Plant Safety Program.
3. Complies with and helps implement Food Safety Program, which ensures that our products meet customer specifications, and are safe, legal and wholesome. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Waste carts, water hoses, brooms, high pressure hoses, scrub brushes, buckets, scratch pads, shovels, squeegees and etc. Wears protective clothing as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Protective head gear (bump cap) and Company approved hearing protection are required on this job. Also a hair net, if needed. Employees must rinse hands in a sanitary hand dip every time before handling the product. Personal cleanliness is required on this job.
