Job Description Work with a great time in a friendly atmosphere for a wonderful assisted living facility. We are looking for motivated people with a dedication to working with senior citizens in a residential setting. Hours: Vary – NO LATE EVENINGS!!!
Experience: 2 years cooking experience required, with a background in commercial cooking (and emphasis in from-scratch preparation) preferred. ServSafe or MNDH Food Manager Certification preferred but not required
Essential duties and responsibilities may include: Preparation and execution of daily meals for approximately 200 residents and staff, breakfast, lunch, and dinner to include but not exclusively the following:
Commercial food preparation using both scratch made and previously prepared foods.
Preparation and execution of protein and vegetable ingredients.
Preparation and execution of soups, sauces, and dressings.
Preparation and execution of desserts in the absence of baker.
Prepare, execute and set up displays and carts for special events both inside the facility and at outside locations.
Log daily cooler and freezer temperatures
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and the prevention of cross contamination and monitor time and temp status of raw and prepared foods.
Ensure all foods are cooked to and held at proper temperatures.
Ensure all prepared and left over foods are cooled according to proper time/temp controls.
Assist with checking in and putting away food deliveries utilizing FIFO and proper storage levels.
Ensure counters and work surfaces are clean and sanitary throughout work shift.
Cleaning work space, floors, and equipment every shift.
Communicate food and equipment needs to Team Leads, Supervisors, and Director of Food Service.
Direct activities of one or more staff persons to assist in preparation and serving of meals.
Cover down to assist service personnel with serving residents during meal periods.
Wash dishes, pots and pans, and smallwares as necessary.
These and other duties as assigned by Team Lead and Supervisory staff, and Director of Food Service.
