Job Title: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m to 4 p.m. No nights or weekends!!
Summary: Cleans rooms, halls, and social areas in St. Ann's Residence by performing the duties listed below and personal laundry of residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleaning of Resident Apartments
Make beds- change linens and make up beds in all assigned apartments.
Clean Bathrooms- wash sink, tub, shower, toilet, mirror, and fixtures. Any spots on the shower doors or tiles should be washed off. Floors should be cleaned.
Vacuuming: vacuum the main room. Once a month, all furniture will be moved and vacuumed under, this includes the bed.
Dust or wipe clean all areas of every apartment. Remove any fruit or garbage that is accumulating.
Personal Laundry: Wash, dry and fold resident’s personal laundry per master daily roster. Iron laundry as requested by resident. Retrieve and return laundry promptly. Put away laundry as indicated on daily roster.
Check refrigerators for expired food). Dusting per daily roster.
Assist other housekeeping staff to prepare rooms for carpet shampooing as needed.
Documentation and reporting of any changes in either the resident themselves or the apartment condition.
Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is required to use both hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, push, pull, carry; and climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
