Texoma Community Center (TCC) is one of 39 Texas Community Centers, which are governmental entities as defined by Title 7 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. Salary $11.50 an hour w/ $2.00 shift differential available.
TCC is the Local Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Authority (LIDDA) for Cooke, Grayson, and Fannin County. TCC serves as the point of entry for publicly funded intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) programs, whether the program is provided by a public or private entity. The LIDDA will provide or contract to provide an array of services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What is IDD?
An intellectual or developmental disability, also called IDD, includes many severe, chronic conditions that are due to mental and/or physical impairments. IDD can begin at any time, up to 22 years of age. It usually lasts throughout a person’s lifetime. People who have IDD have difficulties with major life activities such as:
This position is responsible for providing assistance and supervision to 4 adults diagnosed with an intellectual and developmental disability. This position maintains a home-like environment for individuals living in a group setting and assumes responsibility for enhancing consumer’s personal wellbeing and promoting social, emotional and intellectual growth. This position is responsible for implementing processes and procedures as developed by the QIDP/RN and Manager of Residential Services in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Texoma Community Center. This position assists clients with daily living tasks such as medications, hygiene/bathing, transportation, ambulation, dietary needs, advocacy, training on individualized goals, behavior plan implementation and documentation, home maintenance and 1-1 supervision of clients with dysphasia during meals, as required by medical orders. Individuals may also require total care including but not limited to lifting, transferring, medication administration, feeding/g-tube, toileting/changing briefs and bathing. Documentation of all necessary activities is also required. Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.
Education and/or Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience working with individuals with mental and developmental disabilities desirable
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
