This is a second shift position. Second shift position hours are Monday - Friday 2 PM to 10:30 PM.

The integral quench (IQ) furnace operator is trained to operate several different types of primary hardening and carburizing furnaces that contain a heating zone in the back chamber capable of temperatures in excess of 1750F and an oil quench chamber in the front zone. These furnaces are capable of running endothermic protective atmospheres to alter surface chemistries of steel parts and run on fully automated PLC based cycles. IQ furnace operators are trained on the safe and effective operation of these furnaces as well as the proper setup and inspection of the work processed in them.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent and proficiency in English language (reading and verbal). This position requires direct contact with ITAR compliant work – United States citizenship required.
Experience: 1 year of heat-treating experience preferred but will train the right person.
Skills: Working knowledge of PC based computer platforms. Previous experience with lift truck operation is preferred.
Skills to include:
• Understand all required safety fundamentals of IQ furnace operation per equipment startup/shutdown/loading procedures.
• Set up furnace loads according to the furnace schedule provided by supervision.
• Build loads in accordance with written/visual instructions as well as internal training protocols for load building Perform general maintenance checks.
• Inspect parts for final hardness properties per written or visual instruction on process documents.
• Required to train to proficiency and safety in lift truck operation
Note: Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
