This is a third shift position. Position hours are 10 PM to 6:30 AM.

Job Description:
The primary role of this position is to inspect work that has been processed in the 301 Travis Lane facility’s large batch quench and temper cell to ensure that quality product is delivered to the customer. Parts being processed are typically large forgings and castings that are used in energy, defense, and heavy equipment applications.

Characteristics tested include surface hardness, straightness, cleanliness, and process conformance. This position follows specific sampling and inspection plans for each customer order and performs surface preparation and hardness testing on each designated piece. The inspection operator will also be involved in quality related investigations and containment activities.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, proficiency in English language (reading and verbal), and United States citizenship required.
Experience: 1 year of heat-treating experience preferred but will train the right person.

Working knowledge of PC based computer platforms. Previous experience with lift truck operation is preferred. Skills to include:
* Perform surface hardness inspection on completed work to ensure final hardness conforms to customer requirements.
* Assist in root cause investigations by providing detailed descriptions and statistical data/observations from any nonconforming material found.
* Return finished product to customer containers per written instruction documents.
* Assist Q&T department with load makeup at the discretion of supervisor, depending on work levels and work flow - pursuant to training being completed in said areas.
* Required to train to proficiency and safety in lift truck operation

Note: Must be able to pass a hair follicle drug test.
