Position Overview:

This position is classified as non-exempt and reports to the General Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities:

  • Provide Team Members with the appropriate training: food prep, service, sanitation and safety
  • Ensure a clean, organized restaurant, prepared to deliver quality food and Encore service
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate Team Members to perform to their highest possible level of ability
  • Provide leadership by creating enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude and commitment toward company objectives; create an Encore work environment
  • Recommend and carry out any necessary counseling, coaching, or disciplinary action
  • Conduct interviews, evaluate applicants, and participate in hiring decisions.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and assume responsibility for preventive maintenance of a unit
  • Maintain high standards of service throughout the operational day, leading by example
  • Keep neat, accurate and current records providing the historical data to plan for increased sales and profits
  • Ensure all marketing plans are executed on time and accurately.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others
  • Order and control inventory by forecasting and analyzing past data: food, beverage, and supplies
  • Work lunch, dinner and some weekends
  • Lead Shifts and thoroughly know how to perform the job for each position - fill positions when short-staffed
  • Place orders to ensure sufficient and fresh food
  • Greet customers, take orders, and work cash register as needed while providing supervision to employees
  • Perform office duties including counting cash drawers, payroll management, preparation of reports, completing charts and logs, managing employee shift changes
  • Perform such other duties, as directed by the General or District Manager
  • Responsible for increasing sales and making a profit
  • Open and close the store - following all documented cash procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Frequent bending, and occasional squatting or climbing
  • Standing or walking approximately 85% of the time
  • Occasionally reaching overhead
  • Ability to multitask, concentrate, and make quick mathematical calculations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers
  • Ability to safely work around hot surfaces, fryers and sharp implements
  • Ability to use good judgement and make sound decisions
