Position: Superior Courtroom Clerk, Senior
Salary Range: $4,054.00 - $5,433.00 monthly; Starting Salary DOQ, DOE
Location Clerk’s Office
Employment Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week); FLSA non-exempt; Benefits Apply Courthouse Union Open Until Filled

Brief Duties and Responsibilities: This is an advanced and specialized office support position requiring understanding and involvement in Clerk’s office subject matter and exercises considerable independent discretion and judgment in applying guidelines to work situations. Work in this class is distinguished by knowledge of department procedures and/or specialized knowledge of major department functions and precedence and application of this knowledge. Work involves contact with the general public, public and private officials who depend on the accuracy and quality of service provided. Work requires operation of office equipment where both speed and accuracy are necessary to contribute for proper office operations and efficient service to the public. Work is normally performed in an office or courtroom setting.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision, although not a primary responsibility of the positions in this class, may be indirectly exercised over other office assistant employees.

Working Environment/Physical Abilities: Almost all work is performed in an office or courtroom setting. Must possess physical ability to sit for long periods of time while performing clerical duties and lift, bend and reach during various functions.

Minimum Qualifications: Education And Experience: Five (5) years of office experience and five (5) years of Courtroom work or in a legal office setting; or substituting, on a month for month basis, any combination of experience, education, and training which would provide the level of knowledge and ability required.

Licenses And Other Requirements: Must maintain confidentiality of material and information in office. Must submit to and pass a background check acceptable to the Office. Valid driver’s license. Must maintain continued education requirements in accordance with RCW’s.
