Facilities Maintenance Clerk Job



Job Description
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Training and education on procedural and systems requirements will be provided, but the individual will be responsible for the retention and compliance to perform essential functions. Other duties may be assigned.
The essential functions include:
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean building and offices by emptying trash, sweeping, and cleaning surfaces
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
• Vacuum and Steam-clean carpets
• Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces
• Mix various cleaning agents
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean
• Apply wax to coat floors and buff
• Apply sealant to floors
• Clean and service restrooms and breakrooms with mops and disinfectants
• Move heavy equipment and furniture
• Identify and report possible repairs
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Perform other duties as required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Communication Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Supervisors, other employees, and regulatory officers
• ability to verbally communicate; Bilingual a plus
Mental/Interpersonal Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and manage time, meet deadlines and perform duties under time constraints
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work demands
• Maintain a high level of ethical and professional standards
Physical Skills and Abilities
• Ability to talk or hear in order to give and receive information and instructions
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Ability to reach with hands and arms for the function of loading and unloading equipment
• Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision while operating equipment
Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:
• Able to use telephone, office copier, or other equipment as required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Processing Supervisor as required
• Assist Cold Store/ Import Supervisor as required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• 40 hour work week with flexible schedule demands
• Regularly work in refrigerated environment
• Frequent lifting and pull/push up to 25 lbs.; occasional up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent use of hands to operate equipment pedals
• Alcohol / Drug Free Zone
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES
• High School Education, GED, or Equivalent
• Compatible Work Experience
• Demonstrated ability to be responsible with good follow-through
• Valid California’s Driver’s License, Class C
